If an Abnormality is Detected

The following steps help ensure the best care for our patients:

• If an abnormality is found during the exam, we first assess its cause based on all clinical information gathered

• If appropriate, after addressing the suspected cause, a follow-up appointment is scheduled in 2-3 weeks to monitor whether the abnormality has resolved
   

Persistent oral lesions require further evaluation, often involving a biopsy or referral for additional diagnostic testing
